Erica supports the team at the beginnings and ends of author campaigns––sort of like the Books Forward bookends. She’s responsible for the smooth start of every campaign, gathering preliminary information needed ahead of a campaign’s launch, then coordinating book mailings to interested reviewers.
She’s passionate about creative communication with our authors and their readers. Never one for a cookie-cutter response (though she does sometimes order cookies on behalf of our authors), Erica prioritizes the personal. Upon entering the New Orleans office, she immediately brainstormed ways to have the workspace reflect the Books Forward culture and hand-painted letters to put quotes on the office walls.
Erica came to Books Forward after several years in property management, seeking a workplace where she could apply her managerial skills but with more room for creativity. A writer herself, Erica gravitates toward poetry and belief-suspending fiction (she’s particularly fascinated by aliens). Erica’s TV is either on a Saints football game (her father is a former player) or the Disney Channel. And she’s usually being followed by her three-year-old Boxer-German Shepherd mix Gryffindor. (If you couldn’t already tell: she’s also a big Harry Potter fan, having been to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal 12 times, coming home with a wand each of those times.)
