We help authors think outside of the box when it comes to promotion – or rather, outside of the book. We love landing book reviews and interviews for our authors, and we also love partnering with them to secure an overlooked but excellent publicity tool: guest articles.
Guest articles (by both fiction and nonfiction writers) are useful for promotion because they boost the search engine optimization for your name and book title (often found/linked in the article’s bio), and they attract new audiences who might not otherwise have found you. Best of all, you can publish a guest article (and by association, boost your book’s search visibility) any time, including long after publication.
We helped fantasy author Alison Levy boost her visibility by getting this moving piece about the real-life inspiration behind her novel Magic by Any Other Name with School Library Journal’s Teen Librarian Toolbox. We also helped her place this powerful article about processing emotional abuse via writing with Writer’s Digest; an essay on narcissistic parents with Women Writers, Women’s Books; and advice on finding self love for Girl Talk HQ.
Outlets were drawn into the story and the story behind the story, wanting to hear from Alison’s perspective and growth through writing.
